About me

Hello! I’m Kevin.

Kevin Pointer Sr. here. Your consummate left and right brain thinker! Yep. I uniquely bring the creative and the analytical in one package. I dedicate this blog to those who enjoy learning about and experiencing certain graphic arts, media, and design concepts like me. For sure I enjoy most things creative – from creating graphics and infographics – to audio and visual storytelling – to creating a logo or three along the way!

Being a tech writer in the DMV for many years this English major also enjoys the editorial and writing challenges of working with subject matter experts to generate more technical documents.

I’m a former college table tennis champ.  Ok. Ok. I haven’t played table tennis consistently in decades! I love documentaries and history. Popcorn is easily my all-time favorite snack. How can I work that into a creative blog post? I’m a life-long learner. Geckos can be found crawling around this blog.

Feel free to poke around my site. Maybe you’ve found your tribe! If you are under 47 and not of African American descent, I betcha didn’t know about the famous photographer Gordan Parks. He was a super star storyteller in my book way before story telling was a thing! I’d like to note that I’m running a special right now if you provide (reasonable) comments at the end of any of my articles! More to Come!

My Story

I trace my love of writing and design back to elementary school where I not only had to have the best written book reports and the like — they also had to be the best looking submissions in the class. In junior high virtually no one had a better looking science project than my award winning ones. Then when a 7th grade friend bested me one year with his cardboard, foil covered, motorized robot entry, I learned to up my style game even more. I learned to sell the sizzle and the steak. Fast forward till today — Graphic arts, media, and design concepts still interest me. That is my story and I’m sticking to it!
